Each county in the Middle Peninsula region is governed by an elected Board of Supervisors pursuant to Title 15.2 of the Code of Virginia. Qualified voters elect the Boards of Supervisors, whose members serve four year terms. Each Board employs a County Administrator to act as its agent. Each town in the Middle Peninsula region has a popularly elected Town Council and Mayor. The Council employs a Town Manager or Town Administrator to serve as its agent.
